September 12th (Wednesday) Graph Your Route (take-home lab) and Textbooks Online
If you missed today:
The Einstein White Board in front of the classroom said:
1. Finish GOM1 hmwk 6-8 and collect
Period 1 Period 2 Period 3 Period 4 Period 7 Period8
2. Graph Your Route (take home lab) Due Sept. 24th simulation in front of the classroom with four volunteers
3. Nine minutes to work with Lab Partner on yesterdays lab Physics 500 (collecting tomorrow) if gone start it with someone now in the back room.
4. Textbooks are at every student desk so you can see them before going to my.hrw.com with
username: spashphysics2
password: smile13
Students may check out a textbook for the school year if they prefer or signout one in the classroom cabinet.
5. Reading a vernier instrument to practice for the rest of the school year measuring labs.
6. Graphing in Excel to practice for the rest of the school year graphing.
If we don't finish 5 & 6 we'll start there tomorrow.

You will need to find three other Physics students from any one of the eleven classes first, then pick up the foll owing handout for the Graph Your Route Takehome Lab, in the 'past handout' basket.
Then find someone who was here today to help you finish up the Physics 500 Lab. The materials for the lab are in back of our classroom if you still need to collect the data.
You will also need to grade your GOM1 6-8 homework from the smart board work below.

Textbooks
This year we are just having students access the web for their textbook. To access your textbook on the web just go to my.hrw.com and the username is pkonichek1 and the password is k4X9n
Textbooks may be checked out overnight from the cabinent in our classroom, but make sure your place your name, period, textbook #, and dates you signed it out and when you return it, the return date.

Finish GOM1 (Graphs of Motion 1) 6-8
GOM1 1-5 sheet
Period 1 6-8 Period 5 6-8 Period 7 6-8 Period 8 6-8
Period 1 6-8 Period 5 6-8 Period 7 6-8 Period 8 6-8
Finish Graphing Your Physics 500 data and completing the lab. Each partner needs to graph the same data on the same excel spreadsheet and slide it over to the R: drive, in your period before you leave SPASH this Friday.
The Big Pictures:
1. The GRAPH YOUR ROUTE challenges you to work in a team of four safely. Pre-plan a route and collect all the necessary data; graph the data; and prove to us instructors that you understand that your graph completely makes sense to what you experienced in your vehicle. Following directions to a tee and enjoying learning.
2. Since the GRAPH YOUR ROUTE graph is a total distance vs time graph, not only does the time keep the graph going to the right...the total distance keeps going higher or level (if stopped).
3. From 6-8 homework you learned in #6 that the slope of the units on each axis give a slope with significant meaning. #7 taught you that on a distance/time graph horizontal is stopped, + slope is velocity and the steeper the slope the faster your going. And a - slope just means your returning home.
