Step 4 The Yellow Cross (but not in the correct place)
Step 4
1). Turn the whole cube upside down so the Yellow Center is on top for the rest of the solution (Steps 4-7)
2). If there are already yellow edges on top, turn the whole cube until these yellow edges are in the top positions 2 & 4 or positions 4 & 6.
Side Note: (If the edges with yellow facing up are in positions 2 & 4 using the whole Step 4 formula the first time will get the yellow facing up edges to positions 4 & 6 and the Step 4 formula will have to be used a second time to get the yellow cross on top but if you already have yellow facing up edges at positions 4 & 6, you'll only have to do the formula for Step 4 once.)
3). Step 4 formula
135 (351)' or FRT (RTF)'
rewriting the formula in its long form gives 1 3 5 3' 5' 1' or F R T R' T' F'
4). If you still don't have the yellow cross just repeat step 3 above

DO NOT hold the cube in any of these top formats
left photo below are yellow positions 2 and 6 so this is NO GOOD
middle photo are yellow positions 6 and 8 so this is NO GOOD
right photo are yellow positions 4 and 8 so this is NO GOOD (continued below)

YES, start with yellow center on top AND either yellow on top edges at positions 4 & 8 OR positions 2 & 4
Step 4 The first three turns are all clockwise 135 or FRT

middle photo 3 or R
right photo 5 or T (continued below)

Side Note: Since the right photo below does NOT have the yellow cross yet, you have to do Step 4 formula a 2nd time to obtain the Yellow Edges Cross (if you had the right photo when you started, you would have been done.)
