Curved Mirror Ray Diagrams
If you missed today: (Note some anti-gravity box videos from 2014 on the bottom of this page.
1. You must learn how to draw the six cases for Concave Mirrors Ray Diagrams and the one case for Convex Mirrors
The reason for learning these is two fold:
a). When actually doing the lab, it helps you locate the real image without having to do all the math.
b). On multiple choice test, you can figure out the answer without having to do all the math. Believe me, knowing the ray diagrams mentally saves you lots of time. You'll see when we did it mathematically tomorrow. Even when you do all the math, these diagrams help you see if you did the math correctly.
Here is a sheet from the textbook that shows tomorrows mirror equation and magnification equation and the curved mirror vocabulary ray diagram rules and sketches study this sheet for awhile before starting the below
The curved mirror diagram handout blank we did one side (labeled) in class today and the other side is homework
Mr. Konichek's answer key for the ray diagram and the textbook answer key to the ray diagrams
2. We also showed the following most awesome demonstration on how knowing only the ray diagram for case 5 and case 1 can allow you to lite a match at a distance.
