If you missed today 2013-2014 we concentrated on Center of Mass
Einstein Board:
1. We watched Rocky balance objects off youtube
2. Students choose one of six cut outs to take home after cutting out and coloring
3. We balanced a meter stick on our finger at the center of mass three different ways - just at 50 cm - setting meter stick on stretched out fingers and bringing fingers together - same thing only keeping one finger steady and just moving the other finger toward it
4. We calculated the center of mass of a mobile and collected it pds 2, 3, and 8 and choose two students to weigh and a board to set them on a teeter totter after calculating where the center of mass was so we could set the board on two chairs back to back and duck taped together to have the students teeter totter on. Collected both problems for 10 points pds 2, 3, and 8.
5. We balanced as many nails as we could on one nail head.
6. We also had students balance a spoon/fork combo on a glass using a toothpick or match stick then lit both ends
