Mr. Konichek's Class Notes

May 7th notes (last of the board work for the class) and more review notes if we have time.

May 6th notes (board work for final exam review)

After class on May 5th comments.  I had students who showed up early to class help me cross out three problems randomly from each chapter because of time constraints on the final.  Here is the final review sheet showing the 33 sets of problems you need to know to get a perfect score on the final exam.

Note the exam has been shortened to 33 problems instead of 50 problems New Review Explanation on top.   And May 5th board work.

May 4th Notes for class (board work).  Final Exam Review Sheet

April 29, 2015 Wednesday (Hump Day or Negative 2nD Derivative Day) most of our time today will be reviewing Optimization II problems, section 4.5 [as it is what students have the most problems with.]   We had enough with the packaging by cutting away identical squares from corners to make an open box and the pencil cup construction cost problems so I chose three more to sink our minds into.  Remember the best way to learn math is to do math!
Because of the majors chosen by this class I choose problems 12 parcel post regulations, 25 strength of a beam and 27 minimizing cost of laying cable problems to place problems like them on Exam 3 and the Semester Two Hour Final Exam.  If time permits, we will go through problems 12, 25, and 27 in class today and time for all three groups to black board.

April 28, 2015 class notes to be drilled at black board on.  (note Exam 3 will have 10 pts. extra credit problems taken from sections 6.2-6.6)

April 27, 2015 has two handouts,  the first handout (all integral notes for Chapter 6) we went through on the back side sections 6.4, 6.5, and 6.6 AND then we went to the 2nd handout on the derivation of The Fundamental Theorem of Calculus and the Definite Integral (this derivation handout had just the first and last page of the four page lecture notes I went over in class today.)  Finally, we returned to the first handout and finished section 6.3 notes on the bottom of the back side.

Now we have finished showing you how to do the rest of the homework assignments for the course.  Sections 6.3 & 6.4 are due this Thursday but you may hand in the final four 6.3 - 6.6 if you wish this Thursday (or before).  The rest of this week is reviewing for Thursday's Exam 3 and next week is set aside for just reviewing for the Accumulative Semester Final on May 14, 2015 from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm in our classroom CCC Room 111.

My solutions to Mrs. Scott's notes for sections 6.1 and 6.2 as I promised by heading home today.  If you can work your way through all these, it would be well worth your time.  Best wishes on tomorrow's Q9 and next Thursday's Exam 3.

April 22 2015  Two goals today:  1).  Hit Section 6.2 (two examples on handout sheet:
Note the 3rd page are the help notes for section 6.2 to use at blackboard if needed
) and
2).  Prepare for tomorrow's quiz over 5.6 - 6.1 Drill all three groups on the above
